This class is part of a program offered through a partnership between the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), the Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP), and the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads (VAVRS). Participants who complete this course will receive a certificate of completion that will be recognized by VDFP, OEMS, and VAVRS. The Vehicle Rescue Course approaches extrication as a 12 step systematic process. This course will take participants through all 12 phases, beginning with an awareness to the equipment necessary to complete safe extrication all the way through hands on practicals to help develop the skills necessary for vehicle rescue.
